Giveaway! Bountiful Blessings Baby Boutique

As you may remember, I have an obsession with fun and unique hats for baby boys. Let's face it, when you have a boy you kind of get shorted in the cute accessory department. I mean, baby girls get bows, tights, headbands, and jewelry and boys only get hats! So I may or may not be going through this insane hat phase for Cayden. Seriously, it's a problem... I can't stop buying them. One of my favorite places to browse around for cute hats is of course, Etsy. You don't get much more unique than handmade items! Since we are also BIG on the sock monkey here (Okay, I may be obsessed with that too) I started searching for sock monkey hats. There's actually quite a large selection, but I couldn't find anything I liked until I stumbled upon Bountiful Blessing Baby Boutique and saw this hat:

Isn't it adorbs?! It has the perfect neutral color pallet with a pop of rich red and the pom-pom on top is to die for! I started conversing with the shop owner and telling her how cute her hats are and she was sweet enough to send me one to review! Of course I jumped on the chance and a few weeks later I got the hat in the mail. First of all, I was so impressed with the quality. Handmade items can be hit or miss, and sometimes don't look as good in real life as they do in professional photographs. That was not the case with this hat! It was soft and sturdy and the craftsmanship was fantastic! You can just tell that it's durable and that it can really withstand the test of time. I couldn't wait to put it on Cayden and as soon as he woke up from his nap, I tried it on and started snapping pictures.

Okay, I know he's my son and all, but is he not the cutest baby boy in the entire universe?! Anyway... I've been putting it on him every day and I can't get enough! Luckily it's been cold and rainy this week so we've already gotten a TON of use out of it!And guess what? You guys are in luck because one of you now has the chance to win ANY item from Bountiful Blessings! And another one of you will win a 50% off promotional code on the item of their choosing! That's 2 winners, people! And don't worry if you have a girl, because there are PLENTY of options for the little boy OR girl in your life! Just LOOK at these adorable hats!

Friday Favorites: Sock Monkey Love

I remember when I was pregnant with Cayden I was searching Etsy for cute baby boy photo props for his newborn pictures and I stumbled upon the cutest sock monkey beanie and diaper cover set. I can't for the life of me find it now, but I remember it was made in Chile and ridiculously expensive to ship so I never bought it (I ended up going with a bear theme instead). Ever since I saw that set though, I've been IN LOVE with sock monkeys. Cayden has sock monkey onesies, sleepers, shoes, and toys. I think his monkey pal is so ridiculously cute and his 6 month 7 month pictures will have a sock monkey theme since I never got the newborn ones! This week, I've dedicated Friday Favorites to our favorite red and brown monkey pal.

As you might have noticed, I have a thing for cupcake toppers. These are no exception.

Mother's Song

my heart is like a fountain true
that flows and flows with love to you

as chirps the lark unto the trees
so chirps my pretty babe to me

there's not a rose where I seek
as comely as my baby's cheek

there's not a comb of honey bee
so full of sweets as babe to me

there's not a star that shines on high
that's brighter than my baby's eye

there's not a boat upon the sea
can dance as baby does to me

no silk was ever spun so fine
as is the hair of baby mine

my baby smells more sweet to me
that smells in spring the elder tree

a little fish swims in the well
so in my heart does baby dwell

a little flower blows on the tree
my baby is the flower to me

ten thousand parks where deer do run
ten thousand roses in the sun

ten thousand pearls beneath the sea
my babe more precious is to me

Friday Favorites: Sweet 'stache

One of the trends I am loving right now is the return of the mustache. I think it's so fun and silly and I love how people are showing off their sweet 'stache in so many creative ways! I've seen them incorporated in birthday party themes, wedding photo-booth props, in family portraits and I love it all! As usual, Etsy has caught on to this fun trend and I've seen some rockin' mustache items pop up lately. Enjoy!

I adore these Mr. and Mrs. Mustache cupcake toppers!

Disneyland!

Last weekend, to celebrate Valentine's Day, we decided to spend a family day at Disneyland with my best friend Amanda, her husband, and their daughter (who is about 5 months older than Cayden). I've been dying to take Cayden to Disneyland. He has LOVED Mickey Mouse since he was a teeny tiny thing and gets so excited when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on, so I knew he would love it. I think my favorite thing about being a mom is seeing the world fresh and new through Cayden's eyes and I was so excited for him. It also gave me the opportunity to practice with my camera (and I think I took about a million pictures!)

We started the day going on some rides in Fantasy Land. I was surprised at how many rides babies can go on, but they can do almost everything! Then we went to Toon Town so Cayden could meet Mickey in his house. He loved seeing the characters and didn't cry once the entire day. He did SO good. Afterwards, the babies napped in the stroller while we walked around the park and had lunch and did some shopping. It was such a gorgeous and sunny day! When they woke up we took them on a few more rides until it started to get dark out, and then my sister came and picked Cayden up so he could get some rest and we could spend the night at the park doing the adult rides.... It worked out perfectly! We stopped over in California Adventure for some rides and ice cream, and then ended the night back in Disneyland watching the firework show. It was such a fun day and I'm SO glad we went... I'm already planning our next trip! I am contemplating getting passes for us so we can go any time. I had annual passes and I loved being able to go whenever I wanted and I hope I can convince Mando to get them again :)

What did you all do for Valentine's Day?
