Domesticated Delight Halloween Event!
We're kicking off this Halloween event with our first (of many) giveaways sponsored by Summer over at SummersScraps! I don't know about you guys, but I always start putting up my decorations on the 1st of October (if not sooner) and FILL my house with the holiday spirit! Now that I have a baby, my Halloween style has changed from blood and gore to more 'cutesy' and traditional decorations. When Cayden gets older I intend to bring back the scary stuff, but for now I'm enjoying having a simple yet fun Halloween house. One of my favorite things to decorate with are wooden blocks. They look so elegant and I just love all of the different ways you can decorate them! You can use them for any holiday, plus you can put them ANYWHERE like a dining room table, a mantle, counter, or shelf! I especially love the ones that Summer makes because she uses the cutest patterned paper and embellishments. I mean, just look at them!
These blocks spell 'Spooky' with vinyl lettering and the whole set has a glittery sheen that might be hard to see in the picture. They are also painted all over so you can display them wherever you want without worrying about an unfinished back showing! I love how they are all different sizes (ranging from 5" to 9") because it gives them a funky, fun look.
And how cute is this set that spells 'Wicked'? I am in love!
She also sells these cute countdown calendars that I'm a little obsessed with.
When I asked Summer to tell me a little bit about herself she said....
"I am a stay at home mom to three kids who are the joy of my life. However, life feels a bit crazy for me at times and that when I find myself hidden in my craft room to have a little me time. I need my “me” time and I find that creating things does this for me. I have always enjoyed doing a variety of crafts and love the creative outlet it gives me. Creating decorative items for others is always so much fun for me and I love to share it. Friends and Family have always told me I should try to sell my items but I have never really tried doing it before. I recently decided to give it a try and have been very happy and excited with how receptive everyone has been to my products. My sister has been a big help with me on this and have found that my family is very supportive. I have so many exciting and fun ideas in my head that I can’t wait to share!"
Not only does Summer sell the finished blocks, but she also sells kits at a discount to make them yourself. Being a DIY freak I love the simplicity of buying everything you need in one place so you can spend a quiet rainy afternoon crafting without worrying about running to the supplies store.
